With this keynote, the EASA’s Age and Generations Network inaugurates the Ageing and Visual Anthropology Award (AVA) 2021.

During this workshop we will discuss possible solutions to ethical challenges ethnographers encounter during research with older adults who live with cognitive impairment and/or who lack capacity to consent.

The discussed case studies will be exercises of ethical and ethnographic imagination of how to address challenges that may be constitutive to ethnographic research with older adults living with cognitively impairing conditions.
